Does this qualify as a FG moment?

Postby cstaylor » Mon Nov 11, 2002 11:15 pm

My first day I fell down an escalator in front of several people, ripping a hole in my pants and leaving striped cuts and bruises up and down my shin.

tis all in your mind

Postby den4 » Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:34 pm

I've seen lots of cool people there, and a lot of uncool folks....but it's all in your mind...fashion trends change like the autumn weather, and lasts about as long, with newer things replacing in the throwaway economy....so, age and time is all an illusion....I never had that problem, and if they thought me uncool, well, who cares?

Shibuya is also a trend, ready to get a makeover at a moment's notice....so I think the reporter is just a bit too sensitive....of course the real cool people are the ones that actually do things, rather than just dress up for the occasion with the rest of the wannabe cool folks... :D

but what do I know....den4 knows nothing... :D
try or try not...there is no do......

I forgot how weird Shibuya could seem to tourists. How quaint.
On the other hand, I miss seeing people walk around in sweats and brazenly putting zero effort into their appearance. Does a place like that even exist in Tokyo?

Inside of my apartment is the only place I know. :D

I used to just walk around on the weekends in sweats - even to glamour places like Omote Sando. But I felt the pressure (probably just from myself) and haven't put my nose outside my front door without a medium sized effort for years...

but then if you have it... 8) 8) 8) 8)

That's a good point. The pressure to dress up when you go out exists for guys, too. I used to walk around in jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt until some of my Japanese friends said it looked dasai in Japan. Now I can't leave the house without second-guessing my appearance.

Living in Japan is the best chance for me to dress up. When i go home to Oz, everything ive bought here is gonna look a bit weird, so for this, my last year, im going glam every chance i get, even if it is just up the street to the conbini
I came, i saw, i joined in.
