[/floatr]RussiaIC: Japan Presses the Kurile Islands Conflict
Japan intends to raise the question on the status of the Kurile Island at the G8 Summit 2008 in Hokkaido. Russian authorities claims its unreasonable to consider two-side conflict at the G8 level. Earlier this month at the APEC Summit in Australia the head of Russia stated that Russia is ready to keep on the "Northern territories" negotiations. But such an announcement by the Japanese side only has worsened the situation.
