Japan, Oz & US Navies play Hide & Seek

Australian, Japanese, U.S. Naval Ships, Planes To Stage Drill On Oct. 17

In a gesture of goodwill, American, Australian, and Japanese naval ships and planes will hold a joint one-day drill in the East China Sea west of Japan's southern island of Kyushu.

Officials from the ministry said two destroyers and two P-3C anti-submarine patrol planes from the Maritime Self-Defense Force of Japan will take part in the exercise.

One P-3C patrol plane each from the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force will also join the drill.

The drill is set for Oct. 17.

Where's the submarine in that line-up?
Isn't it hard to play "hide and seek" if everyone's seeking and no one's hiding?

Good question.

Maybe they don't reveal the type of sub(s) because if they did that would make the game much easier - i.e., easy to identify the sound of the prop/engine.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Or maybe they'll just use the Chinese / Korean subs already in the area.

The Aussie ships have already pulled in to Yokosuka. I guess they're waiting for the 17...

I heard they were going to drag Charles behind one of the ships to calibrate the turret guns....

Sounds good to me, the oz navy's target point might be the safest spot in the ocean.

Hmmm. Could be something there! How about trolling for White Pointers?
