Zeppelin Cruise Over Tokyo

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Oct 23, 2007 8:29 pm

[floatr]Image[/floatr]The Nippon Airship Corporation and JTB have announced they will start Japan's first zeppelin sightseeing tour over Tokyo next month for a limited run of until early January (including New Year's Day). There will be a total of 105 flights and each tour will last ninety minutes. A maximum of 8 passengers are allowed onboard so the price per person is a hefty 126,000 yen for a mid-week day flight. Weekend flights and night flights are dearer while for the Christmas schedule you'll need to pay 168,500 yen.

First? What about the Graf Zeppelin in 1929?

Or maybe that was classified as a circumnavigation rather than a sightseeing tour. :-?

Here's some photos of the Graf Zeppelin. At 236.6 metres long it was more than 3 times longer that NAC's sightseeing guppie and must've been like watching a supertanker floating in the sky.

Still, if the tickets were cheaper, I'd seriously consider a ride in the guppie.
