Meiji Era Man In Heisei Japan

Mr. Shinobu Otsuki is 101 years old and still keeps himself remarkably active. Above, you can see him filing his tax returns online making him the oldest person to do so. Below is a picture of the man coming out of a swimming pool in Ofuna after completing a 50m backstroke race during a prefectural seniors competition. His time of 4:17.99 set a new record for a centenarian although it might be churlish to point out that no record actually existed before Mr. Otsuki swam the distance. Last year he finished the 25m event and said this time to reporters that he will have a long think about what challenge to take up next. With Japan's population ageing rapidly, this looks like being the future of news in a few decades time.
