JR East Rejects "Sexually Harassing" Matsuri Poster

East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) has rejected calls to stick up posters promoting a local "naked festival," saying there are many women who aren't comfortable seeing men naked. The Oshu Municipal Government had sought permission from the Morioka branch of JR East to display the posters advertising Kokuseki Temple's Somin Festival at stations, but JR East said the posters could not be displayed unless the images were changed. "As sexual harassment becomes more of a problem, the standards for displaying posters in public spaces are becoming stricter," a representative of the Morioka branch of JR East explained. "It wasn't just that it was out of line because there was nakedness; the pictures showed things that were particularly unpleasant for women, such as chest hair, and it was decided that showing them things they didn't want to see was sexual harassment"...more..

This one is also up on a Japanese site but seems like a different format which means it might not be the real thing. It it is authentic, the Friday, 2nd February date would probably mean it is from 2001 since the 2007 design is above.

I don't think that women necessarily find naked men unpleasant - just ugly, naked men. ;)

I am quite convinced you are wrong. Every woman I have ever raped screamed and begged me not to. I am sure that it was the chest hair that caused it.

The last gal interviewed in the first video summed it up. She said to the effect that if looking at the fundoshi fellows were sekuhara, so was Sumo!
I wonder if JR will now ban Sumo posters?
