Gunma gal unveils Islam-inspired anti-pollen veil
Mainichi, March 27, 2008
SHINTO, Gunma --
A retailer here has started selling Islam-inspired veils aimed at preventing pollen from giving people hay fever.
Ai Kobayashi, the proprietor of the Chikyu-ya store in Shinto, started making and selling the 100 percent silk hoods, inspired by the burqa veils worn by many women in Islamic countries.
"I wanted to have a fashionable approach to fighting off pollen," said Kobayashi, who suffers from hay fever brought about by cedar pollen herself...more...

It's Tokyo's official Fashion Week and the Japanese designer Yu Amatsu was showing a line of burqa in the 2014 spring/summer collection of A Degree Fahrenheít.

The Taliban ought to be pleased, but perhaps they might have some issues with the fact that these are see-through burqa.

The one I hate is the car side window curtain. Ostensibly to block sun but I think it's really there to keep guy's like me from checking out cleavage from a higher vantage point... which I do.
