Kung-Fu Kun Injured on Live National TV

Postby IkemenTommy » Sat Mar 29, 2008 3:45 pm

While performing an acrobatic kung-fu stunt on live TV Japanese TV program, a slight accident occured when the weapon carried by one of the fellow stuntmen sliced the boy's head open. The boy seems to be Chinese so no Japanese was injured or killed in the act. No news link is yet available except the video clip, but I am sure it will be posted somewhere soon.

Yeah, I was watching that this morning. Fucking funny. They cut the clip too short because it really starts gushing and he leaves the stage. The chick who got the blood all over her hand just stays there like nothing happened. Disgusting.

And maybe you need to choke on a cock.

Back on topic, that's so sad. Now personally I hate kids, can't stand them, but seeing that young'un standing there next to tears fighting to remain composed, damn. Hats of to you little guy! :)

That's pretty fucked up. The kid was very near tears. Tough guy though. They didn't seem too concerned.

I was watching the hockey game live when the guy was cut. As he stepped off the ice, he went limp from loss of blood. Just before they got him off, the trainer pinched off the artery; had he not done so, the guy would have bled out in just a few more seconds.

This happened February 10, 2008. He recently skated for the first time since he was cut.

This happened in Buffalo, NY, the same city where this injury happened in 1989:

The goalie also lived. These are the only two incidents of necks getting cut by skate blades in the National Hockey League, and they happened in the same city. Weird.

Similar Accidents

In 1995, a Swedish hockey player, Bengt Åkerblom, died of blood loss after an incident similar to Malarchuk's, as a result of Bengt Åkerbloms death it became mandatory from 1st June 1996 to wear protective neck gear for all players in the Swedish series.
On February 10, 2008, coincidentally again in Buffalo, Florida Panthers player Richard Zedník suffered an injury similar to Malarchuk after Olli Jokinen's skate blade cut the side of Zedník's neck injuring his carotid artery and barely missing his jugular vein. Upon viewing the footage of Zednik's injury, Malarchuk was taken aback, saying that he didn't think his memory of his own incident would come back after 19 years. Malarchuk also stated he would like to speak with Zednik once the time was right. [8]

After watching video of the incident, Zednik said that "once is enough". Although neck guards are not mandatory in the NHL, he intends to wear one when he plays again.

I have heard that in youth hockey in Japan neck guards are mandatory but I almost never saw any kids wearing mouth guards.

I'm surprised there haven't been tons of incidents in Japanes "professional" ice hockey where it seems like the only thing they are good at is falling down a lot.

A lot of adult amateur hockey players in Japan don't wear full face masks and recently I have been seeing relatively lots of injuries. About a week ago a guy was stretchered off the ice after taking a stick to the face. A week or two before another guy had his tooth broken. And another guy got hit in the head with a puck during the warm up and there was blood all over the ice.

Here's a new link since the original one got removed from Youtube (apparently TBS doesn't like getting their own dirty laundry broadcast)

On the contrary, I thought I presented more than necessary to the point of derailing the thread. To post more hockey stuff would have been impolite.

You're new so I'll just assume you haven't read that much of the board yet. :D

Do a search for "noriko" for your "derailing the thread" research.
