Chain store group Beisia has come up with a new plan to cut down on the use of plastic shopping bags at its stores. For some reason, they think customers might be prepared to spend 1,280 yen on a plastic basket which they can use in the shop and then fix to a rig on their their bikes to ride home. A spokesman admits that there hasn't been much interest to date but the company hopes it will become more popular.
