Yomiuri: Ex-JR West exec 'dozed' at derailment briefing
A former director of West Japan Railway Co.'s transport department was ordered to leave a briefing session held last month for victims of a fatal 2005 train derailment after he apparently dozed off during the meeting, it has been learned. The former director, who has been transferred to a subsidiary company, will voluntarily return 10 percent of his salary for three months, JR West said. According to JR West, the 59-year-old former director told the company he had closed his eyes for about 10 seconds at the Aug. 22 session, but denied he had fallen asleep. The session was for victims and bereaved families of the derailment on the JR Fukuchiyama Line in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, in which 107 people died.

They need to cut the guy some slack. He had probably spent all night groping a hostess at kyabakura. That's hard work.
His [Brendan Behan's] last words were to several nuns standing over his bed, "God bless you, may your sons all be bishops."
