
CBS: Smoke Comes From United Airlines Flight
United Air 881 out of Chicago, with 348 passengers and crew were shocked when their plane landed at Narita Airport this afternoon. On touchdown thick smoke could be seen coming from the plane. The aircraft was able to taxi under its own power. An immediate inspection of the plane found nothing wrong. Unlike, the Quanta's airline whose tires burst on landing, the tires on the United plane were found to be o.k. The incident was not registered as an accident, according to the Airport Press Office. A United Airlines press official said, the smoke was caused by excessive friction when the plane touched down.
