In other words, "treat every foreigner you see with the utmost suspicion, and report them to the authorities at the slightest provocation."

Nice message. Yokoso Japan.

Not quite that bad, not the same thing. Arizona is trying to permanently stop the "illegal flow" of aliens and drug cartels from entering into the state and to stop the escalating murder rate, in a nutshell.

Legal or not, for Japan this is done out of pure xenophobia and pure angst.

The campaign is up and running again this year with Osamu Bonchi as the designated celebrity. They caught 103 last year compared with the 150 the year before mentioned in the first post.

How fortunate we are that concerned citizens of the cuntry's second biggest city and one of its economic engines could take the time and make the effort to combat this tremendous problem when so little else is going wrong in Japan at the moment.

1996

Postby torasan » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:02 pm

They caught me in 1996, arrested me and got me to confess during 6
hour chat in the police station, indicted by public prosecturs, jailed
in Kosgue Dentention Center for 41 days in solitary cell, refused
lawyer for first 7 days, mail censored and some words in newspapers
sent to me inked out in black ink, released to go to court in
handcuffs, tried in district court, Kasigaeseki, judged guilty of
illegal alienship, sentenced to three years hard labor, suspended if i
did not appeal and left the country ASAP, put in group cell for one
week and then deported from narita again in handcuffs and then as i
found out a year later when I flew back in to Narita, on a permanent
lifelong blacklist......and i did not hurt anyone, i did not rape
anyone, i did not embezzle any money, I did not use dope or traffick
dope or women, I just ended up in the illegal alienship karma bag and
thems the facts.....
