Erection

Postby Greji » Sun Jul 11, 2010 10:02 pm

I find it interesting that all the people that have complained about the LDP government up until their upset by the Minshuto have not mentioned the current election that is on-going today. Apparently Minshuto is holding out for penalty kicks, or going to announce a new manifest. LDP is kicking some serious butt compared to last election and may clear over 50 seats.

Results by NHK at 22:00:

LDP: 42 seats
Minshuto: 35 seats
Komeito: 7 seats
Communists: 2 seats
Shaminto: 1 seat
Minna no To 5: seats
Remainder: 0

Remaining seats: 29

Yeah, the DPJ supporters have been very, very quiet...

I'm not quite as anti-DPJ as I was before. They seem to have realized that Japan has no way to pay for all their pie-in-the-sky promises (ie pre-election lies) and are being a bit more realistic. We'll see how things go from here.

Am I the only one here that thinks nothing changes and everything will remain the same?

At least there won't be any 10% tax increase (for now) or any of those obnoxiously loud political campaigning for a few months.
