[floatr]Image[/floatr]The Nishippon Shimbun has an interview (Japanese) with Nick Szasz, editor of Fukuoka Now, covering the search by the magazine for "Gaijin Idol", the city's most talented foreigner. Applications are now closed and it all kicks off on Friday. The selected contestants range in age from 18-52 and include an American who plays two guitars simultaneously, a Filipino singer and a Ukrainian acrobat. A heady cocktail.

I'm offended that you have to actually have a talent to be a gaijin idol. I want to get on TV the way Dave Specter did; absolutely nothing.
