A Hyogo man bought a Sausage McMuffin from his local McDonald's one morning. He took it to eat in his car but, as he bit into it, he broke his teeth. A metal nut had somehow found its way into the nutritious mix. A visit to the dentist repaired the damage but a full recovery will probably take a month or so. He returned to the same outlet later in the day to complain but was unhappy with the response he got from the branch manager. He phoned the Tokyo head office but staff there asked him to deal directly with the branch instead. He then asked the police for advice and, as it stands, McDonald's PR section says the company is looking into the matter.
