They've got their panties in a knot for no reason. It's a short scene that looks like a white guy with a mental disease.

If anything, the retarded should be more offended than Asians...

LOL, I'm all for getting rid of that kind of stuff in American society but it's a fucking 50 year old movie! Complaining about shit like this just makes "Asian Americans" look like a bunch of whiny asses with nothing better to do.

Lucky they don't make fun of foreigners in Japan... otherwise this would seem hypocritical....

Then again, it's an "Asian-American" group, so it might not be Japanese. Might just be a group of people that get offended on behalf of other Asians while stereotyping other Asians.... nah, can't be.
I broke a mirror this morning, which means I should be getting 7 years of bad luck - but my lawyer says he can get me 5.

THIS

They are the very definition of racists, doing the very thing they claim to be defending themselves against. Most of these types I've met have never even been to Asia, let alone lived there. They know jack shit about their "mother country" culture or language. They simply band together on the basis of "race" and attack anyone that offends their oversensitive egos. The go on and on about being Asian...BUT that shit fades real fast if they actually come to Asia.

I sympathize with the protestors, particularly as other minorities seem to have much more clout than Asians when it comes to protesting about this sort of thing.

But I couldn't help noting the irony of why so many of the protestors lived in a place called Slope.

With names like Liang, Chin, and Yang, I'm guessing the ABCs are pissed down in South Slope and Park Slope...

It's probably the same bunch of losers who protested Lost in Translation seven years ago:

As a fuck you to the "Asian American" group, I just re watched it last night in nice HD color and honestly think he did a damn good job playing a grumpy old oyaji. Sure it was a bit exaggerated but no more than American actors playing other foreigners in movies. Dude actually mumbled "urusai" and some other j-lingo in with his Engrish grumbling, quite a bit more effort into sounding authentic rather than some of the other stuff at the time. The glasses and the snaggle teeth...would be like a Japanese film portraying an American with a cowboy hat, jeans, and blue eyed contacts. Stereotypes, yeah, racist? Not at all. If anything they got more of the Japanese details right than most modern movies.

Oh, and if those "Asian Americans" want something to complain about, how about the Korean actress in it that took an ABC name? (Linda Wong, AKA Yeon-ok Kang) Or is it only offensive when it's in the movies? She did one called "The horizontal lieutenant" and played everything from Hawaiian, Japanese, to Vietnamese. Is it ok when she plays other asians from other countries? I'm guessing there are plenty of stereotypes there too...does that make her racist?
