The man had planned to take the shark with him when he was done shooting. However, the 100-kilogram animal proved too heavy for one person to move, and he left it in the park under a blue tarp, intending to come back for it the following afternoon. Unfortunately he never got the chance, as the shark was discovered before he could come and get it.
"I'm surprised this has caused such an uproar," he was quoted as telling police, and has apparently expressed regret. Police do not intend to pursue a criminal investigation against the man, stating he had very little criminal intent.
