J-Pigs on a rampage

Postby gaijinpunch » Sun Jun 01, 2014 2:00 pm

Anyone else notice Tokyo becoming even more of a police state this past weekend? I got my first bag check in 10 years. Thought about pulling the "stop fucking with my rights card" but just wanted to get to the bar so gave in. Another guy at the same place got checked. Again, on the way home I got stopped on my bicycle for not having a light (which is only a suggestion, not a law). Then my FB News Feed seems to have quite a few incidences. Not sure if they've got quotas or what, but this Orwellian bullshit is fucking ridiculous.

Could be. I haven't had any problems but an FG at my office has been stopped by the same cop 3 times in the past month asking to see his residence card. The third time was Friday.

No cops probs here but the firemen seems to be overloaded. Lots of alerts all day long... Conversation with few taxi drivers confirm the same, lots of red trucks intervention all day long.

Not exactly the season anymore...

A few weeks ago the cops tried to stop me to check my bike in Umeda - I just kept on riding and was thankful the cops didn't fucking care. A shithead friend of mine moved my bike as a joke inside someone else's building, so I simply reported it stolen - eventually got it back, but the cops make it a pain to actually get rid of your bike being reported as stolen so I haven't done it yet.

Have the paperwork on me (the stuff I have to give them to get the report taken care of), but I'm sure the cops wouldn't believe it at all.

I saw one of those motorcycle cops in a powder blue "Thunderbirds" outfit tag someone this morning at this awful expansive intersection I have to cross every day going to and from work. Drivers do run red lights there all the time but it's a place where five two lane roads and a highway off ramp converge at the same spot so I think most people are just confused or don't realize there isn't enough time to clear it before the yellow light turns red. If I were a traffic pig I'd hang out there all day everyday.

It’s a trap! Police car meant to reduce accidents is not quite what it seems
RocketNews24 | 2015/03/26
Speed traps, or cops hiding it wait to catch speeding or reckless drivers who pose a threat to others on the road, are nothing new. Even when manpower is lacking too much to have a police officer lying in wait, a conveniently placed police car can even do the trick, making drivers rethink their actions and go easy on the gas. This particular police car, however, deserves a second glance...more...

There are loads of creepy lookin' J-pigs on bicycles, waiting on the side streets and watching traffic. What happened to their reactive approach to policing?
