TOKYO —

Chiba prefectural police said Monday that they have arrested an American man after he made his way onto a restricted area of the tarmac. According to police, the man was approached by a police officer and then struck him, TBS reported.

Police said the suspect, identified as Samuel Clarence Morgan, 48, said he had no recollection of the incident which occurred at around 8 a.m. Sunday. Police said an airport employee who was driving a work vehicle on the tarmac noticed Morgan sneaking around.

Police said they are still questioning Morgan about what he was doing at the airport and how he got onto the tarmac.
