This is part of the Abe administration's "Cool Suicide" policy, where would-be jumpers are encouraged to coordinate their activities to minimise disruption.

Hmm, I go there occasionally.

Some Todai professors or so?

Any scandal in the making?

Taro, buddy, i gotta say your English is slipping pretty bad there man. I almost understood that. :biggrin2:

And they need to find shit for the 50-70 year old people to do. Art, taking care of kids and teaching them the value of hard work (its not child labor if they aren't being paid), and paper pushing in local district offices (they can't possibly make thing go any slower, they have nothing else to do after all).

That's the last time I pay that damn chinaman, Mr. Bing, for a translation.

Sadly, the juicy details of this double suicide will never be publicly announced---Japanese are such party poops.

Just a translation and mashup of the previously posted Sankei News and TV Asahi reports....

2 men jump to deaths from train platform in Tokyo
Japan Today Aug. 12, 2014
Two men in their 50s or 60s jumped to their deaths from the same platform at Komaba-Todaimae Station on the Inokashira line in Tokyo on Monday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 12:25 p.m. TV Asahi reported that the men were standing about 20 meters apart as the train, bound for Shibuya, approached the station. One man jumped and the second man did likewise, in what police believe may have been a joint suicide.
The driver of the train was quoted as saying he was unable to stop in time, TV Asahi reported.
Police said one man was confirmed dead at the scene; the second man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are trying to determine the identities of the men, their exact ages and whether or not they knew each other.
Train services were suspended for about an hour after the incident.

Would be better to just jump off cliffs and end up as fish food...or is that more kowai than jumping in front of a train?

Eww, humans polluting the food chain.

I'm sure it must be possible to use a length of disused railway closer to Tokyo than the nearest cliffs to run unmanned trains along with lots of fake stations and inviting signs saying things like "go on, JUMP!".

Or the suicide forest? Jumping in front of a rush hour train from a crowded platform in Tokyo congestion doesn't seem to pleasant...

Apparently, not jumping in front of a rush hour train from a crowded platform in Tokyo congestion seemed even less pleasant to those two...
