You haven't been to Beijing recently, if that surprises you.

Meanwhile, my air quality is in the single digits.

No, just surprised how good the air quality is here, 13 where I'm at.

(though 48 where I'm from in LA....notorious for shitty air quality)

The Tokyo link is actually Funabashi, Chiba. I wonder why it's so much higher then all the surrounding areas in Tokyo metro.

Funabashi has never-ending truck traffic jams and the air quality reporting station is near the expressways/highways. I used to drive to Makuhari Messe for work and I found that higher levels of air pollution at Funabashi (two exits before Makuhari) was as good an indicator of a traffic jam as NEXCO's info. :???:

Then there is also the problem with state-sponsored pollution of the "Cool Japan" program that is trying to best China in all things.

These reporting station at least for Japan seems super quick in refresh rate and sensitive. You can go from 20 to 80 in between two quick reloads...
Also they seem to be really low on the ground below building masking. So a reading for one street might not evenbe a good indicator for the whole hood.
