Why is there conflict of interest? The cross-holdings are complex, but in effect Renault has a controlling interest in both Nissan and Mitsubishi.

I didn't realise (not really an area of interest) but a similar cross-holdings system is being developed with Daimler (formerly Daimler-Benz), but with Groupe Renault as the child in the relationship, and with an as yet non-controlling share of ownership. But Coligny should be on notice: the Germans are coming, and they are backed by the Kuwait sovereign fund.

The Mitsubishi lancer station wagon was a derivative of the Nissan wingroad which is based on a Renault Megane II platform. These guys have been in bed together since forever...

Now just wait for the merging of the Delica with the Renault Espace SUV platform...

And the next step will be on Mercobenz since Renault already make the new Smart on the Twingo 3 platform and have a rebadged Kangoo too. It could finally give a serious Luxury lineup to the Renault group brand.

(and we are few to already switch the emblem on ou whipz...)
