Japanese airlines and Singapore Airlines are the only Asian airlines anyone should use.

Well, I had heard that JAL was okay, I am guessing that was an isolated incident. Most other airlines in the region have stuff like that happening so often that it isn't worth reporting.

I don't have a reference article, but I remember a story from a while back about an Aeroflot pilot who, while having a party in the cockpit with his family, let his cousin fly the airplane. His cousin immediately hit the thrust reverser button, causing both the engines to explode instantly. As you can probably guess, the plane was proper fucked after that. Anyway, on any list of airlines you should never use, Aeroflot is near the top. Their pilots are a bunch of drunken flyboys.

However, you must also remember that your chances of coming even close going down in flames on any given airplane are almost small enough to be written off as a statistical error. Being one one of the bad airlines only increases it a bit.
