Just for your information. Inmates in solitary are not allowed hot water at all. All washing / shaving / drinking / toilet etc must be done with a daily allowance of 5 liters of cold water which is kept in the cell in a special wooden bucket. You slop out at 6:30, clean your cell and refill the bucket at 7:00. This allowance is often reduced as punishment.
The hot water that is available is siphoned from the laundry. Regular prisoners are allowed one hot bath lasting 15 minutes per week. You have one cold shower per day after work.
Dropping a prisoner in a extra hot bath is a very common punishment.
