In a busy week for theme parks:
(a) MDN reports that USJ has just been kept afloat temporarily by a loan of 5 billion yen;
(b) Sydney's Wonderland announced it will close, also due to financial woes, in April - the same month a revamped Luna Park is set to re-open;
(c) while, back in Japan again, a theme park based on Kurosawa's Seven Samuraiwas announced on Monday ...
... Officials at Kurosawa Production said Monday that they plan to open both the Kurosawa Village in Akita Prefecture and Akira Kurosawa Cinema City in Tokyo's Adachi-ku in the spring of 2006 ...
Meanwhile, we all await the opening of the Taro-Pongi-run FG Theme Park, where Nihonjin can experience what it's like being a FG for a day (or longer, if they get lost on one of the rides).
I'm hoping to get a job playing The Hammer of Mirth.
