Pensioner pedophile preys on pre-pubescent pupils

A 79-year-old pensioner has been arrested for luring a little schoolgirl into stripping so he could take lurid photos of her naked body, police said Wednesday.

Takeo Kurihara, the pensioner from Sayama, Saitama Prefecture, was arrested for indecent assault.

He admits to the allegations. "I wanted to look at little girls in the nude," he told police.Police suspect the pedophile may have preyed on other little girls and are questioning him.

Police said Kurihara invited a little 8-year-old elementary schoolgirl and her friend to visit his home in April 2002. She agreed to do so, but when she arrived, he ordered her to strip off.

When the terrified girl was naked, Kurihara took out an instant camera and snapped a photo of the girl. Kurihara lives alone, but apparently lures girls into his clutches by promising to give them sweets when they visit him.

Last month, the 8-year-old girl thought she would get in trouble if her parents learned she had allowed a dirty old man to take her photos while she was naked. She devised a plan she thought would get her out of trouble.

The little girl brought the friend with her on a visit to Kurihara's home. Then the girl found the nude shoots Kurihara had taken of her and secreted them away.

When she returned home, she threw them into the garbage, but her mother found them. The poor mother was disgusted to hear what the old man had put her daughter through and immediately contacted the police to report him. (Wire reports, March 17, 2004)
