Over at the site for journalists, TestyCopyEditors.org, they seem to buy the story.

I assume it was intentional. When I worked slot, I had to contend with a rim editor who often tried to slip double-entendres into the paper.

The base url of the story <http://www.financeasia.com/articles/06DD9861-F82C-4BFA-96CC2D57EB769A9E.cfm> seems to be ok.

weird, no press releases on this on the misys.com website. nor any valid results for "rudi pecker" in their search, strange for someone who's worked there for 14 years...

That is a real article...no doubt. The website it's from is the online version of Finance Asia Magazine...I can say for certainty it is real because I work for a head hunting agency here in Tokyo...We read these people move articles on the website that article came from all the time...that one was so funny I not only forwarded it around my office...but also to everyone I know in Japan, America, and elsewhere around the world...they all wrote back thinking it was a joke...Seeing that today made me laugh just as hard as the first time I read it...

As serious as us financial professionals seem to be on the outside we aren't really. Check out the rest of that website for some funny headlines...my all time favorite was "Merrill's Poon Heads Back to School" referring to a guy who is retiring from Merrill Lynch to go back to college...that headline was great...but not as good as the head job article :P[/quote]
