And here's another: by law I have sign up for this horseshit pension system. The company takes it out of my salary by the month. So wouldn't these politicos be under the same/similar system? ...but how do these assholes in the gov not get it taken out of their pay directly?

Koizumi Skipped Pension Payments for Six Years, Spokesman SaysMay 14 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi missed some mandatory state pension payments for more than six years, .... His opposition counterpart, Naoto Kan, quit his post as leader of the Democratic Party of Japan this week after admitting he missed 10 months of payments in 1996.

The true reason then for the outrage is that everyone else (I hope) is paying into this broken system, a system that when it goes bust will pay everyone out a grand total equivalent of a lump of cottage cheese each month upon retirement. Everyone knows this and when these idiots miss paying they are conveniently avoiding tossing their money down the sewer like everyone else silently does. That is the real issue and it is something people (and the media) are failing to mention.
