
To prevent the smuggling into Japan from all over the world, Tokyo Customs obtained 2 Drug Detector Dogs with the co-operation of the U.S Customs Service in June 1979.
There are two types:"Aggressive Dog" and "Passive Dog".
Aggressive Dog:
Trained to scratch or bite toward the origin of the odor in cargo or baggage in a warehouse or at a seaport.
Passive Dog:
Trained to sit down when responding to the faint odor of drugs on body of passengers or in baggage.
