Maybe I misunderstood, but it seems like it would be kinda tough to entirely avoid US-related places for the next couple of months....especially for Japanese people in the US. Oh well....

You know, I find the whole "American related place" thing pretty odd. Besides the American embassy, what is a US-related place? A bar? How is that "American"? McDonald's? Yeah, right, like al-Quaeda are going to make an earth-shattering statement by blowing up a McDonald's.
It all sounds pretty kooky to me, unless the Foreign Ministry is actually trying to get Japanese to stay at home and spend their tourist dollars on the domestic front. How's that for a conspiracy theory?
