Reading things like that disgusts me for two reasons. First, the obvious statement about how much further humanity has to go, and then the fact that the US still executes people also.

In the southwest city of Chengdu, nine men were shot Tuesday after a rally in which thousands cheered as police burned piles of seized heroin and Ecstasy, a state-run newspaper said.

So the police confiscated "piles" of herione and ecstasy, then burned it in front of the entire town?? What if the wind shifted toward the crowd--they'd have a town breeming with smack-crazed maniacs who want to see more executions.....

Once again, cheers to China for their outstanding display of intelligence and compassion to the international community [SARCASM].
