Japan coach Zico on Thursday hit out at Chinese fans for booing the Japanese national anthem at the Asian Cup as the defending champions have endured a hostile reception in Chongqing throughout the tournament so far...."The Chinese fans have their reasons for booing that I do not want to go into. However, if there is a national anthem being played, any fan anywhere in the world should respect that," the Brazilian said.
...Many believe the fans' behavior is rooted in feelings of resentment toward Japan for its wartime aggression in China, including air raids on Chongqing.
