Amateur paleontologist Shingo Kishimoto displays replicas of fossils during a press conference at Kobe's Museum of Nature and Human Activities... The fossils ... believed to be those of a Lambeosaurus - were discovered by Kishimoto while hiking in the woods on the small island of Awaji, near Kobe...The duck-billed dinosaur became extinct 70 million years ago, a researcher said.

Baah.

He probably put them there in the night - isn't that what most Japanese archaeologists do?

Well, isn't it?

I highly doubt that any so-called primitive men, related to today's Japanese mixed race of Korean, Chinese, and Malay people, existed in Japan before 600 B.C. Any tools created before that time were most likely those of the Ainu people.

I have a theory that the Ainu were the inspiration behind the Oni and Tengu mythologies, especially the myth of Momotaro, who, representing the invading horde of Korean undesirables, wiped out the native peoples of Japan.

Momotaro's story

... Many wicked ogres live there, and they often come to our land and do bad things like carrying people away and stealing their things ...

And if cstaylor's theory is right, we've come full circle, recently

... North Korean secret agents abducted Japanese people during the 1970s and 1980s to use them as language teachers for the country's spy-training program ...
