I've seen places saying "open until 25:00" and a few even say "until 27:00" but this bar has set a new 24-hour clock advertising mark by breaking through "30:00" .

Well, they don't use the 24 hour clock technique here. Just a bold statement that you can drink until 8:00am. There are a lot of bars in this country that gladly open until much later but this is the latest posted closing time I've seen.

not related to japan, but interesting nonetheless...
when i was a kid, i remember seeing the arabic furniture shop around the corner, having painted on their window, in huge letters "open 8 days a week"....
mum asked the shop attendant about it and he could barely speak english, heh.
