Telegraph: Hackett has designs on worldwide expansion

Hackett, the UK-based upmarket menswear retailer, is drawing up plans for a major expansion into the US, Japan and Germany. The store group, which is owned by Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods company, is in talks with potential retail, wholesale and licensing partners about opening stores or striking distribution deals in the three countries.Hackett is likely to enter the Japanese market first, where consumers have an insatiable appetite for Western brands, with the US and Germany to follow.

Banana Republic Japan

Postby IkemenTommy » Mon Jul 25, 2005 4:14 pm

This may be old news but I wanted to share that they will be having Banana Republic in Tokyo starting in September. They will give it a try with two shops: the first one in Ginza and the second in Roppongi.

Oh I know where exactly it is now.

Haven't been to Hiruzu since Christmas. It's been a while so I'm sure a lot has changed.

Technically speaking no it isn't. Since bananas are not grown on the main islands, only Okinawa could be considered a Banana Republic.
