Tokyo Water bills to get slightly cheaper

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Nov 09, 2004 10:53 am

Tokyo Waterworks Management Plan
The main points are as follows:

1.Reduction of fees
Fees will be reduced by an average of 1.3%
After subtracting money transfer discount, the reduction will be on average 2.2%.

2.Revision of the basic unit of water volume
The basic unit of water volume will be revised from 10 cubic meters to 5 cubic meters, in order to create an appropriate incentive and cost structure to promote water conservation.

* The new pricing system will be implemented in January 2005

3.Introduction of new services
Money transfer discounts and daily fee calculations will be introduced as new services.

* Money transfer discounts
For customers who are using automated bank transfer as their payment method of choice, a 5% discount will be given for every 50 yen used during the monthly billing period.
This service will be implemented starting from January 2005 bills (for usage after January 1, 2005).

* Daily fee calculations
The start and stop of water usage will be calculated on a daily basis.
This service will be implemented starting from May 1, 2005.
