Please, kamome, enlighten us on the "unique management style" which has driven the Japanese economy into the toilet.

The Japanese "unique management style" is to sit back, don't take accountability for anything, and work their young employees to the bone while paying them peanuts. The seniority system rewards age more than talent, and decision-making moves at a snail's pace. Other than that, the future's so bright, I gotta' wear shades!

The seniority (age) system is a joke... seniority in real-life experience makes some sense, but basing it on age is suicide for a company. I had a FORTRAN (yes, back when computer sci students were forced to learn ancient languages) teacher that wrote on the board: "1 x Y = 1". He turned to the class, smiled, and said, "this formula holds for most of the people you will meet in the industry. The 1 is 'experience', and the Y is the variable representing years at work."
