"Muscled" and "more sensitive man" ?! 8O He's a hag's fag.

What is wrong with these women!? Viewed as a whole, Korean guys are less sensitive than Japanese and more likely to be abusive.

10 injured after middle-aged women mob Korean actor
Mainichi
Ten female fans aged between 43 and 65 were injured after being pushed over when an eager crowd swarmed around popular Korean actor Bae Yong-joon outside a swish Tokyo hotel on Friday, police said.

Police are questioning officials connected with the actor's visit to determine whether there were any problems with the management of his fans.

Investigators said Bae was in the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo's Chiyoda-ku on Friday afternoon. When he came out of the entrance and got into his car, about 1,000 fans, many of them middle-aged women, crowded around the vehicle.

What time (and at which terminal) did he arrive? I got to Narita around 12:15 yesterday and flew out at 3:30. I was in Terminal 2 and there was - thankfully - no sign of any craziness, middle-aged or otherwise.

I was at home yesterday, and the 2PM wide show "Just" was covering the arrival live, right as the show started. They sent out the helicopter to get an aerial view so viewers could even see the body of the plane yon-san arrived on. The announcers were quite stressed out that they had not yet been able to figure out which hotel he was going to stay at.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's just a bunch of women who really enjoyed the soap opera for their own personal reasons.

Sure, maybe some of the women are married, and hate their husbands except when they get their payday..... Maybe the rest of them are unmarried, middleaged and have turned down just about every man in their life, and now are pulling out all stops fully knowing that they haven't got a chance....

The korean dude is only in it for the money. Not too many men can brag that women throw money at them....

My mother-in-law likes this guy too. She says that the romance portrayed in the dramas reminds her of her youth. I've also heard the same thing from other obahans that I've talked to. I think it's a bit of nostalgia for them.

This is eerily similar to the same frenzy that U.S. middle aged women have for American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken.

What's disturbing is that my mother is an official "Clay Head" and has tickets to his upcoming concert in NYC. Weird seeing Teen Beat Magazine on the coffee table when I visited her recently. 8O

Just be glad your mom has a semi-rational hobby, it could be worse. My mom spends all her time buying crap from Publisher's Clearinghouse, she thinks she's going to win the sweepstakes if she buys more crap.

At least Publisher's Clearinghouse generally sells cheap shit. My Mother-in-law was Japanese and her 'hobby' was buying extremely expensive kimonos that she would never wear. When she died we found that she was several million yen in hock. :(

'Winter Sonata' home owner exhausted by legions of fans
Junichi Toyoura / Gomiuri Shimbun Correspondent
A house in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, that was used in the popular South Korean television series "Fuyu no Sonata" (Winter Sonata) and has become a popular tourist attraction may be closed to the public from next year.

On Tuesday, the 62-year-old owner of the house reportedly notified the Chuncheon city government that she wanted to close the house to the public as she was physically and mentally exhausted by the masses of predominantly Japanese tourists.

Municipal officials aiming to promote the city and take advantage of tours featuring the series reportedly are upset by the woman's decision. They reportedly offered the owner housing intended for a deputy mayor in an attempt to change her mind.

According to reports in South Korean newspapers, the 50-square-meter house, which is located in the same compound as the woman's home, was the residence of the melodrama's leading character, Junsang, played by Bae Yong Joon. In June, the city government signed a contract with the owner under which it pays her 1.2 million won (120,000 yen) every month to open the house to the public.

After the series was broadcast, travel agencies included the house as a sightseeing spot in their "Fuyu no Sonata" tours.

An average of 500 people reportedly visit the house every day, and the number of such visitors in the past six months has totaled about 100,000. Japanese tourists reportedly account for about 90 percent of the visitors to the house.

This lady needed some help in negotiating that Contract. Actually, now she should sell that sucker ASAP.

What do you think this "fatigue" issue is about? She wants a bigger (and well justified) cut of the pie.
