Bingo - You have just described the two man, besuited (new vocab word) Mormon Evangelical teams who can be found biking around Japan during the summer.

Gosh they are soooo friendly. Of course after we start chatting they quickly realize (what everyone in my neighborhood already knows) that I am completely off my rocker. I try to make friends but they always seem in such a hurry to leave.

You should do what my friend did when the NHK guy came to the door. He opened the door butt naked and said `Sabishi.....` No problems after that.
