tiernan LIVE!

Postby tiernan » Sun Sep 02, 2007 1:32 pm

Hello folks,

My name is tiernan. I am a Canadian singer-songwriter signed to two-eight records in Tokorozawa.
I will be playing many shows in September, two of them very notable, with singer-songwriter Robin Yukiko opening for me. The first is at the Baron in Roppongi on Friday, September 21st at 8 p.m. and the second will be at OPPA-LA in Enoshima, Sunday, September 30th at 9 p.m. . For the former, we will both be playing acoustic and the latter will be all electric, her band versus my band; live and loud. Robin's music, as I stated earlier, is like a mix of Ani Difranco, Jewel, Bjork, Sarah McLachlan... in short, any female performer with quality material and a strong delivery. She's amazing; point blank.
Info for the first gig can be found HERE! And here is a photo of miss Robin just to give you a look at a girl's pretty face -> Image
Thanks for the support, and we hope to see you there!
Cheers,
tiernan

I met him in person the other day - one of the tallest people I have ever seen. Nice chap and the music had interesting lyrics - somewhat political.

RSVP
Dear Tiernan,
howz it going? Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately, I cant make it to the gig. I have something else on. But I do hope it is a blast, and I wish you all the very best in your cheap-ass attempt to turn this website into a socialized free-for-all where any FG who has the inclination can use the site to give themselves or their buisness a free plug. Good thinking.
Take care,
Kusai Jijii,

Nothing wrong with the occassional shameless self promotion.... is there? ;)

Everything in moderation they say. (pardon the pun)

To Tiernan.. am unsure of my schedule tomorrow let alone the end of this month but I will see what I can do.

The Baron gig last Friday was pretty sweet. Robin Yukiko, alone, unplugged was something breahtaking to behold. Too bad it will have been our last gig at that venue. Aparently the owner wants to quit hosting live music and reorient her newly renovated space towards upscale karaoke and exclusive parties. Fair enough, she's the owner.

A word on the Sunday, September 30th show at OPPA-LA in Enoshima... the new fully electric tiernan band is pleased to announce the launching of Stip Janken. A lot of our favorite punk bands have played in their undies in the past, but we going to start adding to the fun by doing janken every second song, and the loser has to remove an item of clothing. Wow! Are you ready, Kanagawa?! lol.

"Get ready, 'cuz this shit's about to get heavy!"

Best,

tiernan

This means that the baron shows will be no more?

That is the sad truth, my friend. As I said, the owner of the place paid for massive renovations (and it looks GREAT) BUT her goal was to start throwing exclusive parties and holding upscale (read: expensive) karaoke nights, as opposed to having live music. She took out half the stage, removed the drums... it's sad, but it's the end of an era. I'm excited about the future though, it's never looked so bright! :)

Oh I bet you are buddy! What, with with the 'strip-junken' gigs and all, I guess things have never looked so bright. Its all up from here! When are you next playing at Mowtown? Thats a gig I'd love to see! Anyhow, remember to keep us all informed of your progress (i.e. keep plugging yourself (and yourself) on the site).
Go for it!;)

Mowtown? I don't know...wha? Are you talking about the label? Is there a PLACE called Mowtown? Anyway, we're getting interviewed for a nationally distributed music magazine in America next month (I think it goes to press in November) and we're going to be doing a mini-tour of California in January.

The "strip-janken" thing is just for fun. Hell, Propagandhi played in their undies quite a few times and they are one of the coolest bands on the planet. Don't diss a little silliness and nudity once in a while! It relieves stress!

Cheers, Jijii!
