Starting a night in Tokyo.

Postby Basilio » Tue Dec 21, 2004 12:58 pm

Hi, have just joined f*ckedgaijin. Have been around in Japan for a while. Am thinking to promote a funk/disco/house night. Was wandering if anyone knew of any good resonable venues that are out there for rental, what the deals would be....like a piece of the bar whatever. Have DJs, and flyer production ready for disposal. Any ideas? Thanks

Super Deluxe are always looking to host nights and is run by foreigners. Kitsune and Seco Bar are Japanese but do have house nights. I don't know what the costs are though.

Yep, it's almost "required" for F'ed gaijin to do events at of of the following three venues which either are gaijin owned or gaijin tolerant and engrish speaking. I've used all three with good success. For crowds over 250 persons start looking into the dirt-cheap Ward "bunka centers" and thE mini amphitheaters for 500 to 2000 persons run by the cities and wards.

If you want to do it on a Saturday night, try Club Shampoo, which is run by Phil Miller, the same guy who ran Club Pylon back in the day.

He's a nice guy and Shampoo is a nice venue with an outdoor patio and state-of-the-art light/sound system. Can handle up to 300 f'ed aliens.
