I only remember reading in the good old Japan Times about the glorious Canadiens' victory! Nothing dirty involved.
I think the Kings will win tonight, but since they are a young team, there is a chance they could be tight and not play well. Just hope it doesn't end with some disputed goal, like the Brett Hull goal against Buffalo!
Kings won game 1 (4-1)
Kings were winning game 2 (2-1) when the Canadiens called for a stick measurement against McSorley out of the blue, got a goal back, and then won the game in overtime. Basically, it really fucked the Kings here. Now, we all know that you almost never see calls for stick measurements in the NHL and especially not in the playoffs. As a referee of 15 years, I NEVER once had to use my stick measurement tool! It's too hard to tell what's legal or not by just looking at a stick and you suffer a penalty if you call for measurement and the stick is legal.
Well far too late afterwards, it came down to the Canadiens being known to steal shit from the opposing teams's locker rooms when at home and during game 2 it was learned that they stole the entire King's stick rack and dragged it into their locker room to measured each stick. Hell, at that point, they could have even planted sticks if they wanted. Then, they rolled the stick rack back to the hallway and waited til they needed to call for a measurement. Illegal and dirty way to grab an advantage and it worked to them. They won the game, tied the series, ended up winning the next 2 games in overtime as well until finally getting a clear victory in game 5. (so yeah, it was a closer series that 5 games sounds BUT should have been 6 games at the very least.)
