I'd love to, but at 14,500 yen they'd have to throw in a free horse or something to tempt me.

Also, what is this "premium Australian beer" they speak of?

Crownies...

Oh, BTW, Australian wines have no "h" in them (kinda like Japanese wives...)

Would dearly love to go, but probably not the best person to have around there...

No this is not a cheap lunch - but the food is amazing and the wine is never ending. Good door prizes too.

Also you have to take extra money for the gambling - they have a bookie on site who does a tidy little trade for the day. Sure he has some risks but he has "contacts" in Aus that he can lay off some of the bets to if need be.

Premium beers are of course the crownies and my husband's parochial fave - Coopers. Damned South Australians think they make the worlds best beer and will argue most effectively and passionately on this point.

I've always found the Oz Society good for laying on the dog, so I reckon it will be a beauty (and I've got fuck-all to do with the society, I'm just speaking from experience).

Speaking of which, anybody know where I can watch the Swannies down the Hawks? (By that, I also carry the additional meaning of "without having to pay, download or blah, blah, blah" You know, no extras.) I do know there's a do on at Hobgoblin in Roppongi, but it's kind of a last resort
