Chiba

Postby dampwashcloth » Sun Oct 10, 2004 12:15 am

Hey, I'm goin to Chiba in late november.

How late do the train lines run from tokyo to chiba?

Is there anything fun to do in Chiba?

Thanks.

If there are any gaijin down there who want to meet up I'm up for a chat. I can speak limited Japanese and am Australian.

Are you talking about Chiba City or Chiba Prefecture?

Don't know how late the trains run from Tokyo to Chiba, but on the slow train it's about a 45 minute - 1 hour ride, probably running you around 600 yen.

I live another hour south of Chiba city on the Uchibo line myself, but there's plenty of westerners up there. If you can't find them in the bars, go spend a fun day in the immigration office like I did on Monday. Met no fewer than 4 americans in the space of 3 hours (including a guy who plays basketball for the Chiba Badgers - didn't even know they existed).

Yeah I'll be in chiba city.

Well, walking up to gaijin on the street and striking up a conversation doesn't really entice me.

Is there anything fun to do in Chiba?

Sights, sounds, girls...

Chiba is Tokyo, there is no difference.

Have you ever heard of Chiba Disneyland, Chiba Disneysea, International Chiba Motor Show or Chiba Game Show?
