Image iPod nano cards on Shibuya train platform
purprin photostream on Flickr: ....unique advertising campaign, huge iPod nano posters now adorn the platform walls of Toyoko Line Shibuya Station. As you depart the train you'll be faced with a stream after stream of actual-size iPod nano cutouts, in which you can pull off and take home.... tens of thousands of people passing through Shibuya station daily, those iPod cutouts won't last very long... the staff was furiously "refilling" the empty spaces with new cutouts in between the waves of departing passengers...

Swag!

Too bad my swag collection is all in storage. I have all the best swag. I even have the ultimate Mac collectible, a Picasso light.

Here's about the only good swag I have out of storage. It's an ugly green coffee mug I got from this little dinky software company in Albuquerque that made software for Apple II and CP/M machines.

I saw the white 2GB type going for $250 US in Singapore this last weekend and I was close to buying it when I realized that I was in no hurry to get something that still scratches easily. I wanted the black 4GB anyway and the white one was the last one they got so I didn't end up getting it. I thought about getting it and selling it to anyone on here, but it's too much of a hassle to sell shit online. Besides, Apple hasn't done anything to remedy the scratch problem.

You can buy iPod nano skins (a thin, adhesive film with a clear screen protector) in the Apple Shibuya store. Mine works great and casual observes cannot can tell the difference from the original. I think they are about 900yen.

The hot thing in nano protection is a clear plastic wrap called InvisibleShield. Expensive at $20, but you could buy the product as 3M ScotchCal elsewhere for less than half that price.

Damn  I guess I'll have to take back to the store that CD I just bought for your birthday - "The best of train commuter sniffles - Volume 3".

 Maybe I can swap it for "Drunken Salaryman songs - Volume 8" ...

Now that everyone has bought one, iPod nanos are being sold everywhere including my middle-of-nowhere 7-11 in the Raccon Forest of north Yokohama.
