Fake Kyodo story on China invasion of Okinawa on pseudo Yahoo site

TOKYO, Japan---
....a pseudo Yahoo! News website ...carrying a fake Kyodo News credit and falsely announcing that Chinese warplanes had invaded Japanese airspace over Okinawa were posted on Oct. 19. The site, using a logo mimicking that of Internet portal Yahoo! Japan's news site, carries the fabricated article saying that the Pentagon had announced the ''invasion'' early Oct. 16, which the faux report says took place over China's gas exploration projects in the East China Sea.

The article, purportedly written by a Kyodo correspondent in the United States, said, "Chinese troops invaded Japanese airspace over Okinawa in the predawn hours of Tuesday, U.S. Department of Defense officials said," the Mainichi Shimbun reported Wednesday.

Read this carefully and you will see it is not fake. It was just 'leaked' by someone jumping the gun. Troops don't 'invade' airspace, this was obviously a spy or observation flight over Okinawa that the powers that be are 'holding in the hamper' for future use.

It will be released through proper channels soon enough if deemed worthy.

The length of the url of the fake Yahoo News! report at the top is way too long. The bottom url of real Yahoo! JAPAN reports is shorter.

I laughed hard when I first heard Okinawa had been invaded. I live here. Nope, no chinese troops to be seen. First story I read said that Okinawa had been invaded, nothing about Okinawan Airspace being invaded, so it was even funnier.

Monday November 28, 10:17 AM, Kyodo---Police arrested a former programmer on Monday for allegedly posting a fabricated news article with a false Kyodo News credit on a pseudo Yahoo! News Website, which said Chinese warplanes had invaded Japanese airspace over Okinawa, they said.
Takahiro Yamamoto, 30, in the city of Nagasaki called Kyodo News' Nagasaki bureau on Oct. 19 after the incident came to light, saying he "did it" because he wanted to attract public attention.
Yamamoto also apologized to Yahoo Japan Corp. in an e-mail message, which also contained his contact information.
According to the police, Yamamoto allegedly violated the Copyright Law by posting a fabricated news article saying the Pentagon had announced the "invasion" under an "America, Oct. 18 Kyodo" dateline.
Yamamoto was arrested after police had analyzed communication records and folders in his personal computer, which he provided voluntarily, they said.

Amazing, all with only one little telephone call and just his entire background listed on an email and they cracked it in a month. Wonders never cease!
