Ahhhh, 419 missives... the joys of being a "Shacho." Consider it a honor you receive so many.

My favorite old joke 419 was:
REQUEST FOR CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS TRANSACTION
From: laura419@hotmail.com
To: clc@brainslug.org
Subject: REQUEST FOR CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS TRANSACTION

ATTN: President/CEO

I am the widow of the late President George W. Bush of the United States of America. I am writing you this letter in confidence regarding my current circumstances.

I escaped the United States ahead of death squads with my husband and two children Jenna and Frank, moving first to England and then, when my husband's political enemies took power there, to Austria....

I used to get so many of these things when I had .co.jp at the end of my email addy. They must have assumed I was a buisness owner or something. I must admit that I was thrilled the first time I recieved one. I was day dreaming untill I finally did some research on internet scams and found out that this type of scam seemed to be Nigerias number one asset. LMAO

Check out the Fax Server number on the header/margin of that fax. If the Fax Server is located in Japan try sending the server provider/service or NTT a "little" note.

Then again, 90% of the fax servers are still set the factory default password so gee maybe I sent it to you from my office in JapanInc.

Fax header says:

Sent by: ______________ Number: _____________

I heard somewhere that there is a 1991 US law regarding fax spam in the US where you can get $50 per Fax...

Looks like someone finally fell for their Scams.

The Register Mobile: Find out what the fuss is about. Take the two week trial today.

A US scientist who collected $600,000 for SARS research in China from students, colleagues and friends, actually handed the money over to Nigerian 419ers, the Boston Herald reports.

Today, my Mom recieved a scam LETTER posted from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

It said the same standard shit that appears in any 419 email, but someone like this having her name+address and going to the bother of actually posting it kinda freaked her out.
The letter is signed 'Donald Choy Wan' with a yahoo.com.sg email address too - but the signature looks to be photocopied and it dosent seem to match that name...?
I wonder where they got her details from and if many people have been receiving stuff like this physically?

Gomi, what is tiresome? You should be so lucky! I too am one the chosen few!

I have had no less than 20 relatives for whom I am designated executor or sole surving relative, who have been murdered, killed in a car accident, plane accident, died recently of old age, or been eaten by a mad lion. All of them were millionaires with all of their money in one bank with stupid banking rules.

I am also a friend of no less than 50 people who would like to give me millions for assisting removing their money out from under repressive regimes.

Further, I have won consolation prizes in email lotteries in Belgium, Luxemburg and the UK at a half a million quid plus a pop.

Before the emails became common letters (and probably faxes) were the way these scams were run. I received one of these, as did someone else I know here.

I sat next to a Nigerian guy on a flight from Paris to Narita once. He was claiming to be from the 'Ministry of Jesus' and was going to meet with a rich family in Saitam to collect funds. I started to feel sorry for the rich deluded family who were going to hand over cash to this clown.
That was until he told me the name of the people he was going to meet 'Reverend Willy Stroker' and 'Mrs Shitzusucka'

I struggled to keep a straight face

He probably ended up hanging around Roppongi in a tracksuit, pretending to be from New York

Check out 419eater.com, it seems Tokyo is probably the fastest growing 419 town in the world at the mo.

Is it just me, or do the posts of the seller (aka ripoff artist) "cdubzon40s" sound a lot like the posts of "Cubed" on FG? 8O

Mmmm

Postby kurohinge1 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 5:13 pm

Somehow I thought that this story belonged in this thread . . . ;)

Nigeria called on Japan for more investments

Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday called on the Japanese government to make more investments to help modernize the West African country.

. . . Obasanjo noted that Nigeria particularly welcomed joint venture investments with Japan to produce power and petrochemicals such as fertilizer. . . .

With the never ending torrent of Nigerian 411/419 scam emails/faxes/letters, I think they've produced enough "fertilizer" for this planet already.

Nigeria has done for advanced fee fraud what McDonalds did for the humble hamburger, except Nigeria forgot to use the franchise business model.

And if you're wondering why after 20-25 years the scam is more popular than ever, then check out the stats on this Dutch site which show that they are successfully separating fools and their money at a staggering rate.

According to the Dutch, as at March 2006: "AFF losses suffered in 2005 by companies and private citizens" total US$3,183.7 million worldwide (excluding Nigeria*).

* In Nigeria there are too many 419 rings and 419ers to enumerate and to quantify the losses to victims worldwide from 419 operations.
