TOKYO — Sony Corp said Thursday its group net profit skyrocketed 654.5% to 115.52 billion yen for the year ended March 31, buoyed by record sales in the movie business and strong sales of digital cameras and electronics parts such as charge coupled devices (CCDs).

Net profit per share was 125.74 yen, up from 16.72 yen the previous year. (Kyodo News)

The american unit of sony did bad, the Japanese unit did well. I just bought a samsung pda/cell phone. When I got it home I realized it was Korean, ;-p I would rather had a Sony.
