Alternative to mouser...

Postby Coligny » Sun Apr 25, 2010 2:48 am

Since I have only 1 electronic shop in my village... who never have what I need... and the only alternative being Osu in Nagoya... where you have to go to 23 different shop for any given project (plugs, 3rd floor of that building, wire down the street, resistor 1/4w being the fountain, rotary indexer, behind 3rd tree after the love hotel... and on and on and on...).

I started using mouser... but below 7500 yen it's 2000 yens of transport fee... which is quite excessive when you need 400 yens of capacitors... But must admit that their online catalog is absolutely awesome..... they even have around 90 different kind of "unknown type connectors"... It's like a drug free version of fear and loathing in last vegas...

Back on topic... sorry...

Do you know other electronic components webshop for japan ? (english would be nice, but H11AA2 opto isolator ain't gonna have another name in japanese...)

Thanks... best part... Mouser send me an email... items are shipping from hong kong... while I carefully selected only japanese made items to avoid this kind of delays...

It's like when I want Kawada spare parts... the factory is on the Route one in Toyohashi... But I have to order from hong Kong if I want my items fast and cheaper than anywhere else in japan...

http://www.monotaro.com/ or http://www.monotaro.com/c/024/974/ No minimum order and they don't charge transportation for orders above Yen3000. You can ask for the catalog sent to you or see it online. http://flier.monotaro.com/05005/pageview/pageview.html (400 pages)

Hope it helps.

I usually use Farnell, aka Farnell Newark, aka Reocom
"Doing engineering calculations with the imperial system is like wiping your ass with acorns, it works, but it's painful and stupid."

"Plus, it's British."
