(I'm really getting old... and not in a good way...)
(especially since I sleep with my IPad 1 under my pillow and never have it farther from me than an arm length...)

I bought an iPad2 about 3 weeks ago knowing the 3 was coming out. As with my phone I wanted to jailbreak and I know the new iPad won't be jailbroken for at least a few months. When there's an untethered jb available for it I'll consider buying one.

Got an unlocked 32GB 3g/wifi iPad2 (white) for 42,000yen. Can't complain about that!

It took a lot of messing about but I got MyWi On Demand working today!! Once set up it works perfectly, it's just getting that first pairing done that is a PITA.

Hasn't worked since...

Bad luck, because it's really an awesum functionnality... But when you google their forums, there is an aknowledged bug... that hasn't been fixed for month...

 You nailed that one. Worked perfectly yesterday, back to not wanting to connect or pair today. iPad is 5.0.1, 3GS phone is 4.3.2. Hopefully they get it fixed because when it was working it was fucking awesome.

I'm still rocking a iPad 1 at home when I'm too lazy to use the laptop. Also works great for loading up on and watching a ton of TV/movies on my flights. Only complaints I have with it are the usual lack of flash (I know, I know, been too busy) and the browser crashing on larger websites or with too many open at once. If my tours start getting more business I'll probably buy a 3 and some used 1's or 2's for the customers to dick around on while I drive.

Bluetooth keyboard works great for this sort of thing. I'm getting better at typing on the screen though...

Yeah but the mapping of some special keys is not consistent accross all term emulators and more a kludge than a real solution.

Also... IPad+ keyboard... I'd rather borrow me dj00ly macbookair...

But for the IPhone... folding keyboards (slide under ones are totally cool) are the only way to go...

Have you tried a TouchFire? Considering buying one, would probably make typing a lot easier...

My problem is more related to the space taken on the screen by the keyboards, or have to use it vertical form terminal emulator... and then the screen is no longer wide enough...

Touchfire looks like a bad solution to a problem that don't exist. The picture with the stoned hipster is cherry on the cake...

MYWI AND MYWIOn demand have finally been updated...

I STRONGLY recomend to uninstall the previous version and reboot before installing this upgrade. On demand sort of wrok but now seems to be used to trigger wifi tethering through a bluetooth first call.

( also had to uninstall itether related things)
